Margarita..
Margarita Corporan is a NYC based-photographer working across the genres of portraiture and documentary photography. Born in 1972 in Washington, DC to Peruvian and Dominican parents, Margarita spent a majority of her youth between Lima, Peru and DC. From the age of 7, she had photographed everything in sight but nothing like the documentation of her younger siblings.
Margarita graduated from the School of Visual Arts in NY and immediately immersed herself in every aspect of the photography industry, from photo assistant to studio manager to stock agency executive. In 1999 she enthusiastically began her career as a photography editor, working at such publications as People Magazine, Marie Claire, Us Weekly, People En Español, Parade, among others. Margarita’s editorial work has been recognized with a Henry Luce Award and by The Society of Publication Designers.
After more than ten years, Margarita stepped out of the editor role and resumed her passion behind the camera by establishing her corporate lifestyle photography business. Her clients include Google, YouTube, Facebook, McCann Worldwide, Amazon, BMW, and MasterCard as well as a variety of advertising and non-profit organizations.
When she is not in production with her team of photographers and videographers, you can find Margarita working on her personal projects that include her long-time abstract fine art series, Evadama and the visual study of her blended family from across the globe.
